Meet Our Staff

 

The University of Montevallo Career Development Center is proud to introduce you to our team of professionals. We are glad for the ongoing opportunity to serve our students.

 

 

Michael Lebeau | Director

 

Michael Lebeau (He/Him/His) has 25 years experience in higher education as an administrator, counselor, and teacher. He has held professional career development positions with the University of Montevallo, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Birmingham-Southern College. He received his Master of Education degree in Counseling and Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Montevallo, which granted him the Alumni of the Year Award. He was the President of the Alabama Counseling Association, which granted him the Distinguished Professional Service Award, the Distinguished Professional Development Award, and the Humanitarian Award. He was an officer in the Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers, which granted him the Career Counselor of the Year Award.


Danielle Tetro | Career Counselor

 

Danielle Tetro (She/Her/Hers) is an Associate Licensed Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She holds a Master of Education degree in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (with a Concentration in Creative Writing) from the University of Montevallo. She has considerable experience in career counseling, mental health counseling, and group facilitation. She has also works closely with several other University of Montevallo departments, including TRIO Upward Bound, the M.A.D.E. program, and the Falcon Success Center. She works to provide a welcoming environment for students and alumni to discuss their life and career goals while offering guidance, support, and resources to help them work toward those goals. (ALC under the supervision of Ashley Barber, M.Ed., LPC-S.)


Josh Martin | Career Counselor

 

Josh Martin (He/Him/His) is a native Alabamian who grew up in Birmingham. After graduating from Shades Valley High School he attended The University of Montevallo where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Later he earned a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Education degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo. As a Counselor Josh has worked in Career Counseling, Addictions Treatment, and Community Mental Health. He taught English at Jefferson State Community College and the University of Montevallo for a number of years.


Joyia Williams | Career Coordinator

 

Joyia Williams (She/Her/Hers) graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Montevallo with her Bachelor of Science degree in Collaborative Elementary Education. She has experience as an AmeriCorps member, math tutor, Orientation Leader, pre-school teacher, and community volunteer. In her spare time, can she be found practicing photography, sewing, and Taekwondo.
